I have always been passionate about singing, beginning as a child with home videos and talent shows then moving to choral singing and solos.
At the University of Michigan, I was classically trained in voice and studied choral music education, graduating in 2003. Performing in several musicals and operettas throughout my education, I was also a member of the University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society (UMGASS). I began singing with the Germantown Community Chorus (GCC) in Germantown, TN, as a soprano and soloist in 2007, and served on the Chorus' board for a total of 8 years, with 4 of those years as President. Additionally, I was considered the resident "substitute conductor" and section leader. In 2019, I stepped in front of the GCC permanently as Artistic Director, and held that role until 2022 when moving back to Michigan. Besides directing, I enjoy singing in multiple choirs. I have also performed in front of the Germantown Symphony Orchestra numerous times, with pieces that range from jazz standards to classical masterworks to holiday pops. In 2015 and 2016, I participated in the NATS Student Auditions for the Memphis chapter, and took first prize in the Adult Women category both years. Also in 2016, I was invited to join the chorus for Mozart's Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In 2018, I advanced to the CS Music Convention's national vocal competition held in Boston, MA, as well as performed in Opera Memphis' production of Madama Butterfly. In 2019, I toured Italy along with the University of Memphis' Chamber Choir. In 2022, I organized and rehearsed a group of singers from both MCA and GCC as I made my second trip to Carnegie Hall. I perform for the occasional wedding and special event; my repertoire ranges from classical to pop to musical theater to jazz and includes most everything in between. I would love to make your special event even more special with live vocal music! When not performing, I teach voice and piano lessons. If you desire to grow as a musician, wish to brush up skills you learned long ago, or want to share the world of music with your children, please contact me. |
